It’s that ‘Crimbo Limbo’ period between Christmas and New Year’s Eve where you are not quite sure what to do with yourself so we thought we would take the time to reflect and look back at some of our highlights of 2018.
We will start off by saying that it has definitely been a year of growth and triumph for us here at CountyClean Group.
Staffing News and Achievements
Since the beginning of the year we have had 11 people join our team in order to keep up with demand which is truly amazing! Eight of our new employees are now part of the operational team and consist of highly skilled HGV Drivers and fully trained Pump Engineers. The other three staff have joined our office team in the roles of Strategy and Development Director, Office Receptionist/Administrator and Marketing Executive.
We have also had a couple of internal promotions within our pumps division including Ben Knights being appointed as Pumps Division Sales Manager and Dawid Dobrowolski being promoted to Pumps Division Project Leader. Joe LeBorgne also made the transition from our operational team to the sales team as Business Development Executive.
We welcomed four new members onto our Board of Directors from May to July joining CountyClean Group’s founders Mike and Debbie Walker. These new members are; Donna Prince, Financial Director; Trevor Beer, Operations Director; Wayne Holdaway, Strategy and Development Director and Louis Dimmock, Commercial Director who are now recognised as key members of the management team.

We are very excited with the significant progress we have made this year with all the new staff additions as well as the new members of our Board and we look forward to continuing this rate of success and development.
Lights, Camera, Action!
February saw the launch of our showcase film premiere event which was held at The Birley Centre at Eastbourne College and was attended by over 120 guests. The film captured our portfolio of commercial and industrial and household services and involved two months of filming at a variety of locations throughout Sussex, Surrey, Kent and London. The night was a great success and we thank everybody for their support and involvement with this project and event.
Charity Efforts
This brings us onto charity efforts; CountyClean Group thoroughly enjoy supporting charities within the local community and feel that it is a very important aspect of our culture. Our film event mentioned above was in aid of St Wilfrid’s Hospice which is an organisation very dear to us. On the evening of the event, attendees managed to raise £940 which CountyClean Group then matched in order to make the total donation £1,880 which was an incredible sum!
Also to raise money and awareness for St Wilfrid’s Hospice our leading lady Debbie Walker very bravely did a double skydive from 15,000 feet in May. Debbie not only jumped once but twice and managed to raise an amazing amount for the Eastbourne Hospice with the help and support of others. What a great triumph! You can watch Debbie’s skydive here.
Investment in Latest Equipment
Also in May we attended iFAT which is the biennial world leading trade fair for innovative environmental technologies. This industry renowned exhibition took place in Munich and was host to 3,305 exhibitors and over 142,000 visitors from 160 countries.
A deal was quickly struck between CountyClean Group and KROLL that will see us take delivery in spring 2019 of an individually specified six wheeler Super Combination Unit and an eight wheeler KROLL Specialist Recycler unit.
Another deal at iFAT was the investment of a new generation BORA Mini Combination Unit from French company Rivard. This will be in operation in spring 2019 and will enable us to work on waste water and sludge cleaning and removal jobs that are in hard to reach places inaccessible to HGV tankers including underground car parks.
We are thrilled to add these to our growing fleet of over 20 specialist vehicles and look forward to spring next year when they arrive!
November saw the greatly anticipated arrival of our eight wheel Grab Lorry which enables us to provide a full range of dry waste collection services for our customers. We can load and carry up to 16 tonnes of waste and the extending 8 metre arm of the Palfinger Crane assists with areas that have difficult and restricted access. The bucket can also lift up to 1.5 tonnes making loading more time efficient. To book in this service call us any time on 01323 741818 or 0800 171 2204.
Accreditation Achievements
Finally, we have managed to maintain our top industry accreditations including our ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, FORS and Safe Contractor certifications and have been awarded Constructionline Gold and Chas Premium Plus!
A massive well done to Sandy Spires, our Office Manager (pictured below) who carried out the extensive task of applying for and maintaining all of our accreditations. You can view the full list here.
Overall, it has been an incredibly successful year and we are so proud of everything we have achieved in 2018, this could not of all been possible without the help and support of our customers, customers, friends and of course our hard-working employees.
We are very excited to see what successes 2019 may hold and on behalf of everyone at CountyClean Group we would love to wish you all a very Happy New Year!
