As we are sure everybody is aware, record-breaking temperatures and months of severe drought have fuelled a series of massive bushfires across Australia. These fires have been burning since September and have intensified over the past few weeks.
About six million hectares (14.8 million acres) of bush, forest and houses have been burnt so far in total with New South Wales being the worst affected state.
High temperatures and strong winds created perfect conditions for fires to spread rapidly, also making conditions difficult for the 1000’s of firefighters deployed in the field. In the last 24 hours, rain and cooler temperatures may have brought some relief to areas but firefighters continue to battle the blazes.
To try and offer some relief and help to volunteer firefighters who have been tirelessly risking their lives, we have donated to the New South Wales Fire Service and would like to encourage our friends, associates and colleagues to do the same by using the following link.
Our hearts go out to those who have lost their lives including the three firefighters who bravely and heroically gave their lives.
