What is CHAS?
CHAS stands for Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme and is one of the founders of third party accreditation. It is a nationally recognised accreditation created in 1997 by experienced health and safety professionals to improve health and safety standards across the UK. CHAS are also a founding member of SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement) and have more than 900 public and private sector customer organisations and 70,000 contractors registered on the CHAS Database.
How CHAS Supports CountyClean Environmental Services Ltd
In order to work with larger construction companies, local authorities, hospitals, universities and schools we felt the need to improve our CHAS Standard accreditation by applying for CHAS Premium Plus.
This demonstrates and assures our existing and potential customers and suppliers that we meet a level of professionalism and compliance to have achieved this accreditation.
Our recent success in achieving CHAS Premium Plus Membership by CHAS’s qualified assessors means we were evaluated in all areas of health and safety, we also passed all the following sections in order to achieve Premium Plus level:
- Health & Safety Assessment
- Environmental – awarded with the help of our existing ISO 14001 accreditation
- Quality Management – again, awarded in conjunction with our ISO 9001 accreditation
- Equal Opportunities & Diversity Policies
- Financial and Business Standing
- Anti-Bribery & Corruption Policies
- Modern Slavery – ensuring these practices do not exist
What is Constructionline?
Originally created as a government department, for over 20 years Constructionline has been supporting thousands of businesses working with over 10,000 buyers from nearly 4,000 organisations across the public and private construction sectors.
The sole purpose of Constructionline is to open up opportunities for members to access a wide range of procurement contracts and projects and for buyers to access a validated pool of high quality suppliers.
How Constructionline Supports CountyClean Environmental Services
To qualify for Gold membership a number of stringent validation checks are conducted that are of interest to many buyers. We complete an enhanced prequalification questionnaire that goes beyond PAS 91, as well as being assessed on our credentials for environmental management, quality management, equal opportunities, modern slavery act adherence and anti-bribery and corruption policies.
We can also Announce that these new Accreditations have Assisted in us Becoming an Approved Supplier for a Nationwide Passenger Transport Company
This will prove a great opportunity for us to support the transport sector – specifically within the passenger services.
